During this experience, I assisted Dr. Anthony Villa with the live studio recording of a professional brass quartet with one other student from my class. Using what we had learned in the Electronic Music Studio curriculum, we were tasked with appropriate mic choice, mic positioning, setting up the live room, and recording. Following the recording of the quartet, we were tasked with post-production and mixing. This required an understanding of tools including but not limited to EQ, compression, and clip splicing. The final product is now the official Loyola University Maryland Alma Mater audio recording and will be used during school events.
